The Hudson Valley has everything to offer if you are a New York City couple desiring a nearby wedding venue. Surrounded by nature, Beacon is a vibrant, artsy town and home to Dia, one of my favorite modern art museums. In the heart of this charming town is the historic Roundhouse, an industrial yet warm event space with a sleek, modern vibe. Here are three gorgeous weddings I photographed there last fall, each one completely unique and special.
From the bride: The town of Beacon, New York, has the perfect European feel, close to the city, but with a mountain back drop and a waterfall. Coming from Southern Germany and Iran, the mountain felt like home. A perfect location for our friends and family to make a weekend out of it.
We had a traditional Persian wedding, with a German twist and some Dutch sprinkles. The Persian Sofreh Aghd is a traditional wedding ceremony spread with over 2,500 years of history, laid out on the entire table. There are many symbolic items making up the spread, passed down generation to generation, each representing an element of the couple’s new life and marriage together.
This fine cloth is held over the couple’s head throughout the ceremony. This signifies that the bride and groom’s lives are now combined under one roof. Happily married relatives and friends rub the sugar cones above the cloth, to shower their life with sweetness.
Color had a big presence at our wedding. I walked down the aisle with my father to ‘Colour’ by Pete Josef, all my girls wore bright colors, and my vision for a locally gown, colorful Moon Gate came to life thanks to the Parcel Flower Co.
The Roundhouse in Beacon, New York, is the perfect combination of outdoors and indoors for a wedding. Our ceremony and cocktail hour were held outside with a view of the waterfall. The indoor reception had large, beautiful windows with a rustic interior. Our guests are still talking about how great the food was, which was really important to us.

My husband Ryan and I loved the idea of having our wedding feel like a weekend getaway for our friends and family to be together, but still close to the city. Beacon in September is a perfect destination. Our guests visited shops and DIA Beacon, hiked and biked (from the city!) and ate all over town. We were also able to host our rehearsal dinner on the river on a beautiful night at Blu Pointe and a memorable bagels and beer brunch at Hudson Valley Brewery catered by the delicious Beacon Pantry.
As we started wedding planning, The Roundhouse in Beacon quickly became the venue to beat. We loved the industrial vibe, exposed brick, historical nods, and beautiful setting with the waterfall. After attending many rained out weddings, I also wanted an indoor ceremony option as good as the outdoor option – which we ultimately needed!
We were lucky enough to have our gorgeous pictures with Stephanie outside before moving inside for the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. The Roundhouse room itself is so beautiful, so we focused on great lighting from LNJ, industrial objects, and gorgeous flowers from Dark & Diamond to make it our own!

High School sweethearts Angie & Ryan embraced the greenery and waterfalls of the Roundhouse. Non-traditional floral print in her bridesmaids’ gowns in various tones of lavender, and lovely nods to the bride’s Cypress, Greek heritage feature prominently in this beautiful day.
Whether you’re planning a large, post-pandemic celebration, or an intimate micro-wedding, the Roundhouse Beacon is a beautiful, light-filled, modern venue space that will accommodate your wishes.
